Founder of Moms Shimmy Back
Meet Ilene (Aka Elektra) - a multitasking mom with a passion for dance, writing, and empowering women. From being a doting mother to an incredible 8-year-old girl with hair as long as Rapunzel's, to being a professional dance performer, instructor, and choreographer specializing in Middle Eastern dance. With her own dance company Shimmyheat established in 2004, Ilene's passion for movement knows no bounds.
Specializing in a dance of women by women. She has delved into the realm of healing dance using its movements to empower women on their personal journeys. Ilene dedicated her heart to her craft and share it with great love.
In addition to a lifetime of dance, Ilene holds a degree in English and writes regularly through written prose, blogging and various articles. Often you can find her typing away words like she’s playing a symphony on a piano. Ilene is married to a superhuman IT professional who she calls her Batman. A power couple of when the Yin marries the Yang.
